Isn't it amazing where valves crop up and the things they inspire?  Take a look at this picture:- Is it just me or does that space helmet remind my readers of an 833A  triode as well?  The 833A is a directly heated HF power triode with a thoriated tungsten filament that can deliver 1000W RF from a drive of 38W throughout the entire HF band.  Alternatively. the 833A makes an efective room heater / audio amplifier with a pair in class B delivering up to 2700W.
