AUDIO VALVES: ECL82, 6BM8, 6PL12, AUDIO TRIODE-PENTODE
The ECL82 was described by Mullard as a combined single envelope audio triode and output pentode and were typically used in many vintage radiograms and audio amplifiers.
In the 21st Century, apart from usage as replacements the ECL82 finds use in modern designs of single ended and push pull amplifiers as they markedly outperform modern Russian and Chinese production.
The triode section has an amplification factor of 70 made it ideal for service in record players using crystal pickups.
