CV2493, MATCHED PAIR, GOLD PINNED SPECIAL QUALITY, ECC88/01, MULLARD, WHITE PRINT, MITCHAM PRODUCTION, ECC88
The E88CC/01, (often branded as Mullard CV2493 as the military used them frequently) is a premium, high-reliability, long-life (10,000+ hours) version of the E88CC/6922 dual triode valve. Renowned for low noise and microphony, this 1960s/70s-era British-made tvalve was specially pre-aged or to use audiophile vernacular, "burned-in" for critical audio, military and industrial applications.
Key Features and Characteristics:
Performance: Known for a "holographic," detailed, and warm sound signature, often considered a "grail" tube for audiophiles.
Construction: Frequently features gold pins, halo getters, and strict factory matching,
Usage: Primarily used in high-end audio preamplifiers, phono stages, and microphone preamps.
