6CW4, RCA, NUVISTOR, BOXED NOS
The 6CW4 Nuvistor is a triode for use at VHF and built into a small metal case with the base ceramic sealed to the metal case and terminated with five fine pins on a 12 pin grid, from the connections and the electrode supports internally.
The Nuvistor is built as a series of small co-axial electrodes having negligable inter electrode capacitance which support the high frequency of operation. Nuvistors have overload and intermodulation characteristics similar of the valve being superior to transistors.
The thin metal tube envelope is 10 mm in diameter and, excluding the fine base pins, is the 20 mm tall.
Nuvistor 6CW4 was first marketed in 1960
