WW2, AIR MINISTRY, Bakelite push button switch Ref. No. 10F/1786 . On offer is an Air Ministry Bakelite push button switch Ref. No. 10F/1786. This is a double pole single throw switch [with common master] and functions as 'break when depressed', which suggests it is used to release or unlock something. I have not been able to find any references to the push button switch with this reference number. The switch connections are to solder tags on the back and it measures about 0.78 inches x 0.70 inches x 1.90 inches high [including toggle and tags]. The threaded mounting bush is about 0.60 inch diameter and the switch is secured with a hexagonal nut. I have been told that these switches were WW2 aircraft cockpit instrument panel switches used on many aircraft including the Lancaster and Spitfire. This example is in very good, used working condition,
