Well, this is sweet and it dates from the mid 1950's, a time when in post-war central Europe the electricity supply grid was a little flaky - and they didn't have Senor Scargill either!!!!      The Spanish radio & TV industry came up with a solution, yes, a  stylish bakelite housed variac such that you could switch up the mains voltaghe when your picture width narrowed.

This Elevador Reduo Modelo 1001 is the real deal, scarce, stylish and just lovely, the bakelite case is lustrous and crack free and I'll bet there arn't too many of these about.

This item has not been connected to a mains supply and is offered as a collectable item in accordance with my Terms and Conditions of Sale.
