Walter Zapp, the father of Minox also designed a daylight loading developing tank in the mid-1930s as part of the Minox system. The ingenious aspect of the design is that developing the film is done without the need for a darkroom and with the smallest volume of chemicals – just 50cm3!! The film is threaded onto a spring clip and the spiral column turned to unwind the film inside the tank.

This is the later type of tank so designed such that the anti-halation backing of modern films may be accessed and removed during processing.

The tank is in mint condition and it is doubtful it has ever been used, resplendent in it’s original manufacturer’s box and with film ring, cased spirit thermometer and instruction manual.  A rare accessory especially in collectors 95%+ condition such as this one.
