LAFAYETTE, STARFLITE, KT-390, 90W AM/CW, TRANSMITTER, FROM 1962, RESTORATION, NOT FOR CONNECTION TO MAINS SUPPLY,

On offer today we have this quite scarce (in the UK) transmitter, a competitor to the Heathkit DX-60 and some say a far better transmitter as well.  Coverage is 80M - 10M.

Mains power requirements are 115VAC

Valve line up  6CL6 6CL6 12AX7 6146 6DE7

This one has superb cosmetics and has not been bodged by Mr Knob Twiddler - there is a hole in the top grill to allow access to the PA stage biasing pot but I am unsure whether or not this is original or an amateur mod.

Due to working voltage, this radio has not been powered and is offered as a restoration project and offers a cheap way to get on the AM net will a well regarded transmitter.  The mains supply cable, which has been extended ands insulated with Passe-partout tape has been labelled with a PAT TEST FAIL label to prevent inadvertent connection to a mains supply prior to a check of electrical safety.
